About

Drawing from a diverse set of professional and educational experiences, Josie Wakerobin aspires to work with both community and ecology to create a shared landscape that is resilient, beautiful, and productive for not only humans but all manner of creatures. Josie's experience in design, planning, agriculture, childcare, and environmental remediation has informed this desire, and their exploration is ongoing as to how they might best use their expertise to shape this landscape. Aspirational projects include:

Josie has a BS in Environmental Science from Northeastern University, and an MS in Ecological Design from the Conway School. Notable non-design work includes managing the harvest team at Kitchen Garden Farm, groundwater remediation in the Bay Area, and most recently operating a small outdoor preschool, Heron's Nest, with their partner. Major projects include the design of Heron's Nest, a residential design in Holyoke, a planning compendium for public lands in the town of Millis, and a design set for a large public property in the town of Blandford.

Outside of work, Josie is a multi-instrumentalist and writer, with a burgeoning family comprised of goats, ducks, cats, dogs, and humans.
