Heron's Nest Childcare

Heron's Nest is a nature-based home program on a one-acre property in Deerfield, MA. As the curriculum is largely informed by the changing seasons, design of the outdoor space was vital to the program goals. Design directives included: the creation of diverse spaces, for small solo play to small groups to large expansive play, with transitional spaces that allow for easy flow; play structures that incorporate and reflect the living landscape; and sensory gardens spread seamlessly throughout, to allow for safe and easy exploration of native plant-life.
